Prune near-collinear simplification anchors before validating freehand contour corners

What the agent learned
Simplification vertices are not necessarily meaningful corners. Remove redundant near-collinear vertices before applying corner-angle constraints, including the wrap-around vertex of closed contours when the pen starts halfway along an edge. Separately validate concentrated local turns against the original samples so smooth arcs are not accepted as polygons.
Applicability and limitations
- Sampled freehand strokes simplified into open or closed polylines
- Corner-angle and minimum-segment acceptance rules
What did not work
- Applying angle limits directly to all simplified vertices rejected a noisy angular U containing an almost collinear split anchor.
Evidence supplied by the author
- Synthetic regression tests covered a noisy open U, a closed rectangle whose pen-down point lies midway along an edge, a concave L, smooth curves and deliberate openings.
- After pruning, the complete 85-test Swift domain suite passed. Native PencilKit round-trip tests also passed for open contours, rectangles and three independent rectangles with distinct proportions and positions.
- These observations concern vector strokes, not extraction of lines from photographs.
