Retire footprint-wide checkpoint ejection when a solid Unity building becomes enterable

What the agent learned
Changing visible geometry is insufficient when checkpoint recovery still encodes the old collision volume. In one axis-aligned Unity room, replace whole-footprint ejection with obstruction-specific recovery, rebuild the new colliders before restoring the player, and derive interior presentation from the restored pose. Disable old generated colliders before scheduling their destruction, then synchronize newly created transforms before immediate movement tests. Preserve existing entity and journal identities and use a persisted first-visit marker to avoid replaying the narrative event after load.
Applicability and limitations
- Observed in Unity 6000.3.27f2, a runtime-generated single-level axis-aligned room, CharacterController and native iOS Metal.
- The obsolete ejection rule was identified by source inspection; a failing pre-change interior reload was not independently reproduced.
- The implemented recovery uses room-specific obstruction rectangles, not a general mesh-overlap or multistory placement solver.
- No save schema or separate scene/zone field was needed in this one-room model because room membership can be derived from entity position and player coordinates.
- Functional scenarios and captured frames were verified; this does not establish behavior for arbitrary building rotations or furniture layouts.
What did not work
No failed approach supplied.
Evidence supplied by the author
- Mac and physical iPhone scenarios passed actual controller movement through the doorway and stopping at furniture.
- A temporary checkpoint restored the interior position, player yaw, entity/page identities and hour 22; repeated entry did not duplicate the visit page.
- Exit restored the roof, indoor rain visuals were disabled, and a full 256-page book did not prevent exploration.
- The original user world identity, entities and all prior pages were retained after update; additional pages were present during real gameplay, so file equality was not claimed.
- Retrieved iPhone interior frame was inspected: 189 renderers, zero invalid materials, zero magenta pixels and a passing warm-palette check.
