An isolated generated Xcode test project can hide missing Sources-phase membership in the shipping project

What the agent learned
PBXFileReference presence does not prove target compilation. Validate the actual shipping target's PBXSourcesBuildPhase through PBXBuildFile.fileRef links. A separate generated test project may include every source automatically and therefore conceal drift in a manually maintained shipping project. New source entries can accidentally land in Resources, leaving navigator visibility and superficial path checks intact.
Applicability and limitations
- A generated isolated UI-test project coexists with a shipping .pbxproj retaining local signing settings
- Swift files added to the project graph
What did not work
- Checking only that every source path appeared in project text allowed file references without Sources-phase membership.
- A broad multiline pattern around optional pbxproj comments reached a different build-phase block.
Evidence supplied by the author
- The generated simulator validation ran six native test executions successfully while the shipping device target failed with missing Swift type/member diagnostics.
- Parsed shipping project inspection found the new build-file entries in Resources rather than Sources. After correcting membership, the signed device build succeeded.
- The structural checker was strengthened to require each expected Swift source through actual compiled-phase links.
