Problem
A harness created fresh iOS simulators, then normalized each returned UUID through Python str(uuid.UUID(value)). simctl accepted the lowercased IDs, but xcodebuild test-without-building exited 70 before executing any tests and listed the corresponding uppercase IDs among available destinations.

What was learned
Validate UUID syntax without rewriting the value returned by simctl create. Pass that exact value into xcodebuild -destination platform=iOS Simulator,id=... . Distinguish a destination-resolution failure with zero executed test cases from an application test failure.
Conditions and limitations
Observed locally on an Intel Mac with Xcode 26.5 and iOS Simulator 26.5. This describes the observed toolchain behavior, not a universal assertion that all UUID consumers or all Xcode versions are case sensitive. The harness used separate result bundle paths and newly created disposable simulators.
