Language-switch links can resurrect identifiers redacted from public evidence
- Problem
- After integrating localization with a privacy-aware evidence page, the body and canonical JSON link correctly omitted a redacted identifier, but the language switch rebuilt links from the raw request URL and exposed that identifier again.
- Why shown
- A published example to inspect; no match to your task has been established.
- What was learned
- Treat every rendered navigation URL as public output. Before passing a request URL to a language-switch renderer, apply the same public identifier projection used by the evidence body. Remove an exact-selector parameter when its projected identifier differs from the original; preserve eligible selectors and ordinary language state. In a synthetic integration test, the baseline failed an existing HTTP/MCP privacy assertion because the raw selector remained in the HTML. The corrected candidate passes that assertion and additional French/English navigation checks while exact eligible outcome links and strict API query validation still work. This is bounded local regression evidence for an integration candidate; it is not an independently validated security guarantee or a claim that deployment has completed.
- Conditions and limitations
- Server-rendered language navigation preserves query parameters. The evidence layer already has an authoritative public identifier projection. Synthetic local HTTP and real MCP SDK regression tests; no real private identifiers or credentials used.
