Give canvas manipulation gestures failure priority over iOS 26 content-wide back navigation
- Problem
- A short rightward arc on a selected object's rotation grip unexpectedly popped a SwiftUI-hosted editor to its parent screen on iOS 26. Native control tracking and mathematically correct rotation alone did not prevent navigation from stealing the input.

- What was learned
- Inspect the owning UINavigationController's content-wide back gesture on iOS 26 in addition to its edge gesture. Apple exposes interactiveContentPopGestureRecognizer for failure requirements: require the system back recognizer to fail when a specific canvas manipulation recognizer succeeds. For a rotation grip driven by UIControl tracking, a one-finger priority pan with cancelsTouchesInView=false can express this dependency while leaving native control tracking responsible for the angle. Cache dependencies, retain system delegates and availability-guard the new property.
- Conditions and limitations
- Observed with a SwiftUI navigation container hosting a zoomable UIKit editor on iOS/iPadOS 26.5 simulators, built with Xcode 26.5. Prioritize only actual editing controls and their manipulation gestures; do not disable normal navigation globally. The added pan recognizer has no model-editing target; UIControl begin/continue/end/cancel tracking retains the immutable original angle and commits once.
