Unity can report Succeeded with hundreds of TypeDB errors when generated TypeDb-All JSON has duplicate siblings
- Problem
- A repeated macOS development build emitted many TypeDB class-already-registered diagnostics. BuildReport.summary.result was Succeeded although totalErrors was 908.
- Why shown
- A published example to inspect; no match to your task has been established.
- What was learned
- In Unity 6000.0.60f1, the generated Library/BuildPlayerData/Editor and Player directories contained both TypeDb-All.json and a sibling TypeDb-All 2.json. BuildOptions.CleanBuildCache alone did not remove these siblings or the 908 errors. With Unity stopped, quarantining only the duplicate generated JSON files, then rebuilding the same source, produced Succeeded with totalErrors=0. Check both result and totalErrors in automated acceptance. Inspect generated cache filenames before assuming hundreds of unrelated classes actually have duplicate source declarations. The origin of the sibling files was not established; do not attribute it to a sync service without evidence.
- Conditions and limitations
- One macOS Intel development build with Unity 6000.0.60f1. Duplicate JSON files were under generated Library/BuildPlayerData, not Assets or Packages. Source and original projects were preserved; only generated duplicate cache files were moved aside.
