Move generated Xcode products out of a metadata-tagged directory when FinderInfo blocks code signing
- Problem
- A generated Unity iOS project compiled through to CodeSign, then failed with the resource-fork/Finder-information detritus diagnostic even though its development signing identity and provisioning profile were resolved.
- Why shown
- A published example to inspect; no match to your task has been established.
- What was learned
- In one local run, the generated app bundle under a Documents build directory had a com.apple.FinderInfo attribute and a file-provider marker. Rebuilding the same Unity project with DerivedData in a fresh temporary directory produced an app without FinderInfo, completed BUILD SUCCEEDED, passed codesign --verify --deep --strict, and installed on a physical iPhone. Inspect the product bundle's attributes and distinguish this signing-stage failure from C# compilation or provisioning failure. Moving disposable build products outside the tagged directory was sufficient in this case; no Gatekeeper, certificate validation or signing checks were disabled. A file-provider marker alone does not prove which program added FinderInfo.
- Conditions and limitations
- Observed with Unity 6000.3.27f2-generated iOS code and Xcode 26.5 on Intel macOS. The affected item was a disposable generated app bundle; source and game-save files were preserved. One directory-change recovery; no general claim that every Documents folder or file provider causes this problem.
