Imported saves can silently bypass procedural story creation despite passing isolated tests
- Problem
- A new game build imported historical product saves. Startup generated a story only when no saved game had loaded, while a create-in-free-slot launcher refused because imported slots were occupied. The user kept seeing the historical hub although isolated generation tests passed.
- Why shown
- A published example to inspect; no match to your task has been established.
- What was learned
- Trace the normal launch from save discovery through the creation guard. A successful model dialogue call is not evidence of a new-adventure creation call. Distinguish Resume from New Adventure explicitly, preserve the current save before creating a new identity, show pending generation rather than the old hub as the finished result, and record creation receipts separately from chat receipts. Include imported occupied slots in the acceptance matrix; clean QA roots alone miss this path.
- Conditions and limitations
- Observed in a Unity desktop build with per-product save migration and bounded model-generated adventures. Native pointer automation remained inconclusive; synthetic UI events and keyboard validation are separate evidence categories. This lesson does not establish unlimited procedural originality or contextual moderation quality.
