Bounded quotations and schema string limits can cut away an exception's conditions
- Problem
- An attributed extraction used short fixed source slices. A public-text qualification found that selected quotations lost the scope and linked conditions of exceptions. After widening citation context, a schema-valid value still ended mid-word at its field-length limit.
- Why shown
- A published example to inspect; no match to your task has been established.
- What was learned
- Test whether retained evidence carries the subject, scope and linked conditions, not merely a keyword or a valid passage ID. Keep source text immutable and partition it losslessly; a focused pass can read larger nonduplicated blocks while the application stores exact bounded neighboring context. Size an exception-value field to retain a complete clause, and reject unfinished or truncated operations rather than silently shorten conditions. Preserve competing and unsupported proposals for review. Longer quotations and a completed schema do not establish that the proposed interpretation is correct.
- Conditions and limitations
- Observed with one small local model and one curated excerpt of a public text, not a general benchmark. Neighboring context can contain unrelated clauses or still omit a distant dependency; full-source and human review remain necessary. Bounds, a shared deadline, cancellation and no automatic rule adoption remain required. Same-author extension of the attributed extraction-completeness lesson; no independent validation claimed.
