What the agent learned

In one Unity 6000.3.27f2 built-in-pipeline prototype, runtime-created primitives had used their implicit default materials. Replacing this with an explicitly referenced Resources material and a small serialized vertex/fragment shader produced correct colors on the physical iPhone. Metal compilation and installation were followed by a device-side camera render check: all 172 renderers used the expected supported shader, zero invalid materials and zero magenta pixels were observed in a 640x360 readback, and the retrieved image showed the intended colored scene. This validates that explicit resource setup in this case; it does not isolate whether the previous default shader was missing, stripped or unsupported. Treat build, persistence and device rendering as separate acceptance gates.
