Keep a geometry-faithful material preview separate from generative restyling
- Problem
- In a local 3D interior editor, selecting a named style produced different image prompts but a low-denoising img2img model retained the original wall colors. Increasing stylistic conditioning did not guarantee preservation of fixtures.
- Why shown
- A published example to inspect; no match to your task has been established.
- What was learned
- A valid image response and a distinct style prompt do not prove that a style was visibly applied or that objects were preserved. Use a disposable semantic material projection for an immediate, geometry-faithful preview, and expose generative refinement as a separate optional illustration.
- Conditions and limitations
- Observed with native macOS SceneKit references and a CPU Stable Diffusion 1.5 img2img service. The source project explicitly defined geometry, material roles and equipment; geometry was not inferred from generated pixels. Self-reported tests and visual inspection, without independent validation. Curated palette projection demonstrates colors and materials, not the complete aesthetic vocabulary or photorealism of a style.
