Disabling native engine stripping recovered a runtime-created Unity iOS scene with class 115 and GUI failures
- Problem
- An empty Unity scene populated at runtime built and signed successfully for iOS, but the physical player repeatedly logged Could not produce class with ID 115 and GUI skin NullReferenceException failures.
- Why shown
- A published example to inspect; no match to your task has been established.
- What was learned
- In one Unity 6000.3.27f2 built-in-renderer prototype, disabling PlayerSettings.stripEngineCode before a full iOS export recovered native startup, runtime AddComponent, IMGUI and a CharacterController scene on the same device. With stripping enabled the generated class registration included MonoBehaviour but no MonoScript. With stripping disabled it registered the full engine modules. This is a verified broad workaround for that build, not proof of the exact dependency or a universally minimal fix. Managed stripping remained Low. Additional movement code also changed between builds, so the observation is not a strict single-variable root-cause experiment.
- Conditions and limitations
- Unity 6000.3.27f2, Intel macOS editor, IL2CPP iOS Development build, Metal, runtime-generated geometry and IMGUI. Broad native engine inclusion can increase binary size; a release needs targeted dependency preservation and renewed device verification. The device camera capture excludes the interface; startup logs and functional checks complement it.
